The background noise in our society has become deafening.
Every day we are overwhelmed by so much new information, new possibilities, and new objects of desire that it has become virtually impossible to separate what we really want and feels good on a deep level from what is just a compelling need of the moment.
Chaos reigns supreme outside and inside us, and our sense of identity is weakened, so much so that it is easy to feel lost and confused both in small daily choices and in giving clear and precise direction to one's life.
And when you feel lost you have only 2 options: stay in the same situation, or find guides who can help you find your Way again.
“Evocations” is a project born out of the need to find guides who are truly free from all social conditioning, and who can thus offer a new and profound perspective on ourselves and the reality around us.
A perspective that can expand our consciousness and help us find our inner voice amidst the background noise.
Guides of this kind cannot be found in the material world: they must be evoked from the energetic world.
Each work in the project is a diary of an evocation, a real dialogue with a guide belonging to the spiritual plane.
The creative process, which in the tradition of Spiritual Expressionism is also a spiritual experience, is divided into two phases, which alternate several times during the creation of the work.
The first phase is the energetic act of painting, triggered by the evocation of a spiritual guide. In this phase, I enter a light trance state through an esoteric ritual and, having drawn protective seals around the canvas to be painted, I connect to the energetic world.
There, I ask to be guided into the presence of the entity I am evoking and in a totally automatic way I write the first symbols on the canvas: they represent the map to reach the Guide.
Once I reach the Guide, a real conversation begins with it: an intuitive and energetic process that manifests as the transfer of its words in the form of esoteric symbols, which represent precisely the language of the spiritual entity.
During this phase my body stiffens and begins to contract, only to snap free and channel the symbols onto the canvas with quick, harsh gestures.
A second phase of rapid interpretation of the experience and esoteric symbols follows: a necessary assimilation in order to continue the dialogue.
Once the interpretation is over, I return to a trance state to continue the conversation, thus painting a new layer on top of the previous one.
I continue in this way until I am energetically exhausted: at this point I say goodbye to the Guide and with seals I close the evocation, severing ties with the energetic world.
Once the experience is over, I let a few days pass and then interpret the conversation as a whole again: it is through this further interpretation that the guide's words take on a broader and deeper meaning, and allow me to gain clarity about the reality around me and about myself, thanks to messages that are both personal and universal.
“Evocations” is a stimulus for the viewer to observe reality and oneself from ever new and unconventional perspectives, and identify, thus, what is one's true voice amidst the great background noise.
It is an invitation to go beyond external influences and seek one's own answers within oneself, thus rediscovering one's own spiritual identity, perhaps trying to give one's own interpretation to the esoteric symbols in the works, which are carriers of spiritual messages at once universal and personal.
All works are acrylic on canvas, measuring 90x90x3 centimeters.
